Venue Facilities
The Sydney International Regatta Centre has a number of different facilities that can cater for a large number of activities.
All buildings are energy efficient, designed to maximise natural light and ventilation. Installed solar popwer panels save 0.6 tonnes of greenhouse omissions per year.
The landscaped grounds of the Sydney International Regatta Centre are open to the public seven days a week from sunrise to sunset (dependant on events), and boasts outstanding Competition and Warm-Up Lakes to suit a diverse range of aquatic activities. The initiatives undertaken to maintain high standards of water quality also means conditions for swimming and water sports are superb.
The centre is renowned as Australia’s best facility to host triathlons. The 5km cycle path surrounding the Competition Lake along with the parallel access roadway negates the need for public road closures, and allows all three triathlon disciplines to take place simultaneously within the venue. Outside of competition, the cycle path is enjoyed by the local community for jogging, walking and roller-blading.
The heart of the Centre is located on the Island where the Kiosk, Pavilion, Grandstand, Boatsheds, meeting rooms and launch pontoons are found. It is here that the sporting and business communities hold corporate functions, product launches and gala dinners.
A further highlight is the venue’s Museum. Rowing and canoeing memorabilia from the Sydney 2000 Olympics is on display to commemorate . Rowing and canoeing memorabilia from the Sydney 2000 Olympics is on display to commemorate Australia’s place in Olympic Games history. |
